We had a great Christmas and New Years and are getting back to reality now. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Lady and Paw-Paws. The Christmas Eve festivities involved a pizza buffet, making Gingerbread houses, and writing letters to Santa.
But the girls houses stayed in one piece at least. Looks like we won.
Yes - Juan's letter says "Dear Santa, I'm still awesome. Juan."
At the time I didn't notice - but it looks like Lady isn't so perfect. Too much bubbly Lady.
All Mia wanted to do was get into everything. This is one of her Diva looks. She has developed quite the little drama queen attitude. We are definitely in for it.

Mia got her first baby doll.
Mateo spent a lot of time with Aunt Monkey and Uncle Worm.

Another white Christmas. The last one was the year Mateo was born in 2009. Too bad it wasn't enough to play in.
Grandma, Grandpa, and Nana came into town the day after Christmas and stayed with us through New Years. So we had our second Christmas and everybody got spoiled all over again. Mateo got a train, some new clothes, more cars and toys and Mia got more baby dolls, clothes and toys too.
We had our first weekend away from Mia while Grandma, Grandpa, and Nana were here. We were very lucky that they kept the kids while we went to see The Deweses for the weekend.
We spent New Year's at home, and I hate to admit it but neither Juan nor I made it to midnight. Grandma, Grandpa, and Nana had to ring in the new year alone. The boys shot off some fireworks and Juan made burgers though and we had a nice dinner at home with all the grandparents.
A new museum opened in Dallas awhile back and we took Mateo right before Christmas. It was really nice, with a huge dinosaur exhibit, an Omni, and a lot of exhibits that we didn't make it to. But Mateo had a good time.
Lady and Paw-Paw got Mateo his first swing set for Christmas. Lady put it together all by herself and since the weather was going to be so bad on Christmas she gave it to him the weekend before. He had a great time playing on it, and only almost broke his neck twice :)
I'm starting to see a trend here. Mateo is spoiled. Back to the Cowboys game the weekend before Christmas with Daddy - in a suite of course. If the boy ever has to sit in seats with the general public he will not know what hit him.
Mia has been sick for over a week now, been to the doctor twice, and still not feeling well. Despite that she is still trying to walk, saying "uh-oh," and starting to point to things to identify them. It's hard for me to believe that she is close to being able to communicate.
Last night Lady babysat the kids while we went to the Cottonbowl with some Aggie friends. It cost a small fortune but was so worth it. The Aggies beat the hell outta OU with a 41-13 win.
When we got home we learned that Mateo wanted to watch the game and him and Lady watched the first half. Mateo has developed quite the taste for football. In fact when we went to dinner on Saturday night when they sat us down Mateo very enthusiastically said "We can watch football from here!!" when we were seated at a booth in front of the TVs. Hmmm - whose son is he??
And here is a video of Mia dancing to the most annoying Elmo song. So cute, but so very irritating!
