Here are some pictures from recent weeks. We've been enjoying spending a lot of time outside, and are dreaming of being in our new house that we are building. We signed papers yesterday and should be in it in about 8 months. We got lucky that a new neighborhood is being built about a mile from our current location. We were able to get a half acre lot, which was the main reason we were looking to move. We are thrilled!
Juan got a GoPro camera before we went on our vacation. He's been mounting it to everything to take videos and pictures. This is a picture of Mateo in action riding his bike.
This is Mateo with his BFF, Elli. Unfortunately, she is moving to Houston. We haven't told him this yet, and we are so sad for him. She's not been in school for a couple months now, and he asks about her constantly. Isn't a little early for heart break? We were able to go over to their house one Saturday for a playdate. We all had a blast!
This is my princess and me. Mia has changed so much in the last month. For a time there, she was super grumpy and difficult and she transformed over night. All of a sudden, she is speaking in sentences, able to communicate what she wants, and is fun and silly! She has such a funny sense of humor, but she definitely still shows us her emotional girly side.
This is Mia and Mateo cuddling one night. They (usually) are so sweet to each other - hugs, kisses, and snuggles. Mateo is definitely the sweetest brother out there. Even when Mia is pinching, scratching, or hitting him, he never "attacks" back. And he gets his feelings hurt when she goes after him, which is really very sad to see.
I took Mateo to a kid's cooking class the other day. He had a lot of fun helping make the dishes, but he refused to eat them in the end.
With the nice weather we were finally able to take the top off on the jeep! The kids love cruising around enjoying the weather!
Anything outside makes the kids smile, even if it's lunch on the patio and playing in the water hose.
The other night Mateo started writing several 3 and 4 letter words. I thought if he can write them he can definitely read them. I found some beginner reading websites and sure enough he was reading beginner books. Glad he is getting something out of school :)
This is Mateo standing on our new lot. We are counting down the days until we are able to call it home.
Juan took Mateo to the first of several Ranger's games this season. I was supposed to go but was recovering from a root canal.
