Month In Review...

Mia is already one month old! I can't believe how fast a month has gone by. She is up to 10 pounds now, still sleeping most of the day, and waking up 2 to 3 times a night to eat. She has been a very calm and happy baby. Mateo is still being very sweet and gentle with her, and loves to give her kisses.

Here are some recent Mia pics.

Meeting Aunt Cindy

Mateo had his 2.5 year checkup this past week.  He is 38.5 inches tall and weighs 34 pounds, which is 92nd percentile on height and 85th percentile on weight, so he is a big boy.  He moved up to the next classroom in school and is taller than most of the older kids in his class.  He is extremely entertaining these days.  His new favorite question is "Why?"  He has really developed an imagination lately too.

Here are some recent Mateo pics.
Acting like a baby.

Mmmm, apple sauce.

Wearing Mia's jacket.

This is what I walked in on the other day.  Juan with laptop and Mateo with iPad.

For Easter, Grandma and Grandpa Ortegon were in town staying with us, and Lady and Paw Paw came over for dinner and an easter egg hunt.  Mateo was thrilled when he saw there was candy in the eggs.  We usually don't keep candy in the house, so holidays with candy are quite exciting for him.  He said "I like candy.  I'm going to eat it all."

Finger painting with Grandpa

It looks like he is missing a tooth, but it is really just chocolate!

We had two sets of professional pictures taken.  One photographer came to our house to do family shots, and then I took Mia to a lady's house to do some cute girly shots of just Mia.  The photographer that came to the house was great with Mateo and got some really good shots of him.  In fact, he was asking to have his picture taken and upset when the photographer just wanted pictures of Mia.  Typically Mateo won't even let us take his picture, so this was amazing for him.  All of the pictures turned out great.

Grandma and Grandpa Ortegon were in town for the past week.  It was quite helpful to have 2 extra sets of hands in the house.  Here are some pictures from the week.

Last Friday we took Mateo to ride Thomas the Train in Grapevine.  He loved it and had lots of fun with his Grandma and Grandpa.

That's all for now.  More pics to come soon.
