For Labor Day weekend, we took our second family vacation and our first group vacation. We went to San Antonio and stayed at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch with The Deweses. On our way down we stopped in Austin to visit The Gutierrez family who we haven't seen in quite awhile. It was great hanging out and getting to meet Karina, the newest addition to their family. Mateo had a lot of fun playing with the girls.

The first full day in San Antonio we spent at Sea World. This was our second visit to Sea World this year, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first.
The best Mr. Mom's ever!
Playing in the water.
Taking a break from all the action.
Patiently waiting for a show to start.
The hotel was a great place for a family to stay. They had a playground, lazy river, pool, and golf course. Jeff and Juan played golf on Monday, and got lucky because a cold front came in Sunday night and we had amazing weather on Monday. Mateo and Cole spent time playing on the playground and at the lazy river.
While we were relaxing by the river, Mateo was so into his snacks and the music. He kept dancing in his chair and he was so into it -- even the people at the table next to us noticed.
This was the first time Mateo had ever played in the sand.
Floating the river with Dad.
The aftermath of a long day.
The hotel had a nice BBQ area, so we ended up cooking out every night. The boys enjoyed playing in the dirt, hunting for bunnies, playing with stickers, and running wild while dinner was cooking.
Sticker time.
This is a video of the boys playing in the dirt. This video makes me laugh because I asked Cole what Mateo's name was and first he said "Meat-o" and then he said "Ma-ta-to." Cole called Mateo Ma-ta-to most of the time. And when I asked Mateo what Cole's name was he says "Tole."
Mmmm - hot dogs!
This picture makes me laugh. They both look like they were caught red-handed.
This is Mateo feeding Cole yogurt at dinnertime.
We celebrated Mateo's birthday one night with cupcakes and presents (thank you Deweses)!
The rooms at the hotel were great. They had a full kitchen and separate bedroom, which was a must for being able to get Mateo to go to sleep. He slept in his playpen 2 out of 3 nights. The other night he slept in the bed with us! He has not slept with us, even for a nap, since he was a month or two old. And now we know why. Neither Juan nor I slept well, both worrying about what Mateo was doing. And Mateo kept hogging the bed. Juan was propped up on the night stand because Mateo kept moving him over. Never again!
Enjoying the big bed.
Getting ready to watch the Aggies beat the hell out of SMU. Whoop!
Going on a bunny hunt. At sundown about the time we were cooking the bunnies came out so the boys enjoyed looking for them. Although Mateo was scared of them?!?
It was a very successful trip with great friends. Mateo did really well, and bonded with Cole, Mr. Jeff, and Mama Jackie (as he called them). He really grew fond of Jackie - as we were looking at the pictures he got upset because he couldn't find her in the house. We are already looking foward to our next trip....
