Hobbies...

Happy New Year to all! We had a good holiday weekend, it was very relaxing and low-key. We did stay awake until midnight on New Year's Eve, only because I was awake feeling under the weather.

Mateo has some new hobbies these days:

• Playing ball. He enjoys playing ball on his new gym. It has a little basketball hoop and he has figured out what he is supposed to do with it.
• Talking on the phone. Everything is a phone - the remote control, the monitor, anything slightly square.
• Sliding down his slide.
• Reading. He still loves reading.
• Eating! Eating has become a hobby. He is having more fun playing with his food now than he is eating it. He is getting really good at using utensils, although more often than not he just picks up a handful of food and smears it on his face.

Eating peanut butter and jelly - one of his favorite foods! In this picture you can see he is actually poking holes in the sandwich with his finger.

Mac and cheese for dinner - his other favorite food.

This is his new booster chair. Mateo has never liked his high chair. We aren't sure why, but he always acts uncomfortable in it. There is also a monkey and bird on the backrest of his high chair that he constantly turns around and looks at. I don't think he likes them watching him eat. So we retired the high chair and are using the booster. So far, so good. I think he feels like a big boy sitting in a real chair at the table.
