Spring Please...

We are anxiously awaiting Spring.  This end of winter cold weather and being stuck inside does not make for very fun weekends.  Last Sunday the weather was decent so we had the first BBQ of the season at Lady's house.

Being a good big brother and pushing Mia in the swing.

Acting silly.
This was the aftermath.  While we were eating dinner, Mateo said "I'm gonna take a break and go sleep."  And he did.  He got up from the dinner table, went and laid down on the couch and went right to sleep.

Believe it or not, Mia will be turning one in about a week!  Where has the time gone??  So what is new with Mia?  She is walking pretty good now.  She can take 10+ steps on her own.  Either she is lazy, embarrassed to fall, or scared, because even though she can walk, she chooses not to most of the time....We have finally started her on whole milk, thank goodness, and thank you for the raise!  She is very vocal lately.  She can say "dog", "hello", and that's about it....She has quite the sense of humor, is always happy, and still wants to be in bed by 7pm.  We put her in her big girl car seat last week, and she looks like she is in heaven - like she has never seen the world before...Her hair is growing very fast, and it is quite an adjustment, actually having to fix a child's hair before we leave the house.

Mia with one of her favorite teachers, Ms. Holly.  She will be moving up classes in school soon, which makes me very sad.

This is Mia's little boyfriend, Denver.  They started at the same time, are the same age, and have been BFFs since day one.  The teachers say that they play so nice together, but only with each other...

So what's new with Mateo?  He loves doing mazes and connect the dots these days.  He is such a sweet and loving boy.  I wonder sometimes how he got so sweet.  His new favorite show is Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Power Rangers.  He is still very into sports, baseball and football, and anything boyish...

We re-did his room superhero theme recently.  These are his new letters covered in old comic book strips.
