His cousin Danny is so kind to pass down his clothes and shoes, and Mateo got the cutest pair of cowboy boots this past weekend. He has gone to school wearing cowboy boots and shorts all week! He looks so cute and is so proud of them. Um - I'm not sure where his shorts are here, but it's so cute!
Princess Mia! I love dressing her up every day, and I am a sucker for anything with a little tulle!
Mia is always a hit at school in Mateo's class. It's cute how all the older kids love to look at the younger siblings every day.
Look at the way she looks at Mateo. It's true sibling love! She smiles at him non-stop and he loves it. He has been the best big brother!
Being silly with the Halloween decorations at Michaels.

Mateo loves the iPad, it is one of his favorite things to do. I have mixed feelings about electronics and kids, but I have seen Mateo learn so much from using the iPad. He loves playing the game Memory, he can beat us at it, and his favorite thing to do right now is jigsaw puzzles. I bought him a couple from the dollar section at target, about 30 pieces, thinking that he would need help, and he had them done so fast. The iPad is great for learning games, Spanish and English, puzzles, memory games, shapes, etc, so we let him go at it.
Mia is now using the jumper on a regular basis. She's really reaching for toys now and paying attention to her surroundings.
I had always seen happy babies, and thought "what in the world do those people to do to get their babies to be so happy" and now I know....nothing, it is just luck. She is really the easiest baby - all smiles, laid back, not fussy at all. Her only quirk is she is a really weird eater - she likes to snack on her bottles and gets angry if she doesn't want it. She still isn't sleeping through the night though. She tricked me by sleeping through the night 5 nights in row and then started waking up twice a night after that!
The other day we made a volcano with Mateo. He had a great time, and it was a good learning experiment.
Sunday is now the official homemade pizza day. Mateo has really started to enjoy helping out in the kitchen.
Mateo wore his superhero cape and mask to school this week. He was Super Mateo Boy.
Juan bought Mateo a butterfly keeper before he went to Argentina. We finally got the catepillars for it last week. The butterflies hatched a few days ago and we let them be free this weekend. Mateo was so excited about it, and the butterflies actually let Mateo touch and hold them before they flew away.
We had quite a wake up call yesterday in our neighborhood when the high school marching band came marching through raising money. Mateo loves the marching band and he was thrilled. However, it was not a pretty sight when they kept marching and he realized they weren't coming back. He cried and cried and was soooo sad! We will have to make it to some of the football games this year just for the band.
Playing with some worms.
More Sunday pizza
