Our Toddler...

So, I am a little behind on blogging. A lot has happened since my last post. Mateo is a TODDLER now! I can’t believe it – we have a one year old. Mateo’s birthday was nice – he got all the toys he needs, including a tricycle and a covered off-road red wagon. We have moved into our new house – if that’s what you want to call it. We are living off of a mattress and crib, and using an ice chest as a refrigerator. It is a mess! We do have a contract on our house though and are hoping to close at the end of October. Maybe we will get our furniture in time for the holidays! Mateo also started a new daycare this week. This one is less than 2 minutes from the house!!! After commuting with him in the car 2 hours a day, this is so needed. One of the main reasons why we decided to move was to get closer to better daycares and schools. Mateo is also in a forward facing carseat now so that really improves the driving. Things Mateo likes now are:

• Riding on his tricycle
• Opening and closing the cabinet doors, which means pulling things out of the cabinets (see the rolling pin video below)
• Duke – he loves to play with and pet Duke, and the funny thing is I think Duke likes it
• Stepping on things – he has started to try stepping on everything. We put the Wii Fit in the gameroom and it looks like he is doing step aerobics on it.
• Pointing and saying “that” – we walk around and he points at everything and says “dat” which means “What is that?” This game keeps him entertained for a long time.
• Checking out girls! How is this possible? I don’t know how, but we’ve caught him several times eyeing little girls.
